Zero Turn Mowers
Zero Turn mowers are an absolute game changer when it comes to mowing grass. It allows you to almost cut your time spent mowing in half do to how easy and quick it is to turn.
From personal experience, Scag V-Ride mowers are the best overall machines and the easiest to use. The buttons and controls are fairly straight forward and. The big selling point for Scag mowers is the fact that you can be going full speed and still lay down some amazing stripes.
Toro zero turns are also solid mowers and I believe they produce better stripes than Scag mowers at the cost of being a bit more difficult to handle. Toro uses a somewhat odd steering mechanism that requires the user to hold in both handles or else the mower’s blades will turn off. My hands tend to get tired and slip off causing me to have to turn the blades on and off frequently. The biggest positive for Toro besides the stripes is the versatility as you can easily attach a bucket to the mower when trying to do a mulch or a rock job.
For those of you on a budget, I highly recommend Hustler mowers. They’re extremely reliable and pretty easy to work on. The only negatives are the stripes don’t come out nearly as good as one of the mowers above and the engines are pretty underpowered. Other than that, you can secure a solid zero turn mower for under $4000 with hustler.
If you want to save even more money, going with a walk behind mower is an even better option. They are essentially push mowers but last much longer, have larger decks, and are easier to use on hills. You can find nice walk behinds for less than $3000 and still make your lawn stand out.
